On February 17, 2025, the fourth session of the 7th Shuozhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was solemnly opened with the stirring sound of the national anthem. The meeting brought together CPPCC members from all sectors and fields across the city, coming together to discuss Shuozhou's ambitious development plans.

Focusing on the Congress, Embarking on a New Journey

Zhang Lixin, representing the Standing Committee of the 7th Shuozhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), delivered a work report to the conference. The report highlighted that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of New China and the CPPCC, as well as a pivotal year for implementing the "14th Five-Year Plan." It also commemorates the 35th anniversary of Shuozhou’s establishment as a city. This year, General Secretary Xi Jinping attended the grand gathering celebrating the 75th anniversary of the CPPCC and delivered an important speech, providing clear guidance for the development of the CPPCC in the new era and on the path ahead. In response, the Shuozhou CPPCC system has earnestly studied and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi’s speech, firmly reinforcing its commitment to following the Party’s lead and staying true to its mission. Under the strong leadership of the Shuozhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the municipal CPPCC and its Standing Committee have thoroughly embraced the guiding principles from the 20th National Congress of the CPC, as well as the outcomes of the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 20th Central Committee. Focusing closely on key annual priorities, the CPPCC has rallied wisdom and strength from all sectors, delivering a remarkable performance that serves the broader national agenda, drives local development, and benefits the people.

The report summarizes the work of 2024 across four key areas: focusing on ideological and political development, prioritizing the city’s overall growth agenda, enhancing people’s well-being, and strengthening the CPPCC’s own institutional capacity. At the same time, the report highlights that in 2025, the Municipal CPPCC will place particular emphasis on five priority areas: firmly upholding political principles, actively serving the broader development agenda, fostering unity by engaging both sides effectively, refining mechanisms to drive progress, and reinforcing core values to improve quality. As 2025 marks the concluding year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the Municipal CPPCC will remain guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and deeply embracing the important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping. Together, we will strive to make new and greater contributions toward the high-quality fulfillment of the "14th Five-Year Plan" objectives and goals, paving the way for a vibrant and distinctive chapter of Chinese-style modernization in Shuozhou.

During this CPPCC session, Liang Wang, Chairman of Zhongyu Group and a member of the CPPCC, attended the 4th Session of the 7th Shuozhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, as well as the 5th Session of the 7th Shuozhou Municipal People's Congress. At the meeting, Chairman Liang Wang delivered a speech titled "Recommendations for Vigorously Supporting the Development of the City's Construction Industry." He emphasized that the construction sector, as one of Shuozhou City's key pillar industries, plays a vital role in driving local economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and improving residents' living standards. However, Shuozhou's construction industry currently faces several significant challenges, including intense market competition, insufficient technological innovation, and a shortage of skilled talent. To address these issues, he proposed that the municipal government implement a range of measures—such as providing policy support, fostering and attracting talent, promoting technological innovation and its adoption, and expanding into new markets through strategic partnerships—to firmly bolster the development of the city's construction industry.

Chairman Liang Wang’s remarks garnered widespread attention and recognition from the attendees. Everyone unanimously agreed that these suggestions were highly relevant and practical, playing a crucial role in driving the development of Shuozhou City’s construction industry. Meanwhile, Chairman Liang Wang actively listened to the insights and recommendations from other committee members, pledging to further refine his proposal and contribute even more wisdom and expertise to Shuozhou City’s growth and progress.
