On June 17, 2025, the sunshine was perfect, and a gentle breeze blew softly. Zhongyu Group organized an observation and study tour delegation, led by Deputy General Managers Wang Peng and Tan Fu, to visit the Changzhi Steel Structure Project for learning and exchange. The delegation consisted of nearly thirty members, including heads of the company’s administrative departments and several project managers. This visit aimed to enhance internal communication, gain insights from cutting-edge practices, and ultimately elevate the group’s overall project management capabilities.
After smoothly arriving at the Changzhi Project Department, the inspection team quickly got down to work. They began by listening to a project briefing. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Jun, the chief leader of the project department, while Project Manager Liu Wenhai provided a comprehensive and detailed overview of several key areas: the project’s overall scope, its technical challenges, breakthroughs achieved in tackling those challenges, and the current progress. Through his presentation, team members gained a clear understanding of the Changzhi steel structure project—its overall status, the obstacles it faced, and how the team persevered to overcome them. They also deeply appreciated the hard work and determination required to move the project forward.

After the briefing session concluded, the delegation members visited the construction site for an on-site inspection and learning experience. The project involves a variety of complex tasks, including steel structure lifting and welding, equipment hoisting and installation, as well as on-site concrete pouring. At peak times, more than 400 workers were mobilized simultaneously, with over a dozen teams working concurrently—a scenario that posed significant challenges in terms of both construction techniques and site management. Manager Zhao Jun personally led the delegation, walking them through each stage of the project and providing detailed explanations of the technical difficulties encountered during construction, along with their corresponding solutions. He also highlighted the project’s key technological advantages and shared some invaluable hands-on experiences gained throughout the process. On-site, delegation members attentively listened to Manager Zhao’s insights while carefully examining the intricate engineering details. This approach seamlessly integrated theoretical knowledge with practical application, deepening their understanding of the project’s technical intricacies. As a result, the combination of theory and practice significantly enhanced the effectiveness of their learning experience.
After the on-site inspection, everyone returned to the conference room for a debriefing and review session. This was an important opportunity for open communication, during which participants discussed the project’s construction and management practices. They highlighted the project’s key strengths—such as its innovative technological advancements and standout management approaches—while also candidly identifying areas where improvements could be made or challenges that still needed addressing. This constructive, results-oriented discussion aimed to provide valuable insights for the project’s ongoing optimization—and ultimately serve as a useful reference for other projects within the group.
